Electric Vehicles
Clean your commute with lower carbon emissions when you switch to an electric vehicle.
Electric vehicles are everywhere you look, and due to advancements in technology, they’re more popular than ever. With lower maintenance costs and emissions, drivers across New York State are making the switch to electric vehicles (EVs).
When you switch from a gas-powered vehicle to an EV, you don’t have to go to the gas station and pay unpredictable prices at the pump — just charge while you’re at home or at work. Your EV also won’t emit dirty tailpipe exhaust, making your drive cleaner.
Maximum performance, minimum maintenance.
Not only are electric cars cleaner, but they offer a cutting-edge driving experience, save money on fuel, and need less maintenance than gas or diesel cars.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a battery-powered EV and a plug-in hybrid?
Battery-powered cars have an electric motor, are only fueled by electricity, and have a long battery range. Plug-in hybrids have an electric motor and gas engine, are fueled by electricity and gas, and have a medium battery range.
What models and types are available?
EVs come in all shapes and sizes, from small hatchbacks to luxury SUVs. Consumer Reports estimates that by the end of 2024, there will be more than 70 EV models on the market — a massive increase from 2020, when there were just six models.
Are EVs expensive to maintain?
In general, EVs have fewer maintenance needs than a vehicle with a gasoline engine. EVs don’t need oil-and-filter changes. That means you won’t be visiting your dealer at regular mileage intervals. Like standard cars, EVs do still need items like tires, wiper blades, brake pads, and cabin air filters replaced.
How many miles do EVs get on a charge?
Many of today’s models get more than 250 miles on a full battery.
